Favorite Restaurants in Dubai

I often get questions about where to go, what to do and where to eat when visiting Dubai. That is why I decided to make a list of some of my favorite restaurants.

Zuma: My absolute No 1 favorite restaurant here in Dubai. They serve top notch Japanese cuisine. I absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is great.
One of my favorite dishes is the Black Cod. Even though I normally don’t eat fish, I actually do at this place and really enjoy it! That should tell you how good the food is!

Roberto’s: An Italian fine dining restaurant with a great atmosphere. I love Italian food so I always get a starter, main and dessert at this place. I like that they have orange trees in the restaurant, which makes the place cozier.

Pierchic: This restaurant is perfect to go to if you want to take someone special out for a romantic dinner. This seafood restaurant is located at the end of a pier, which gives you an over-the-water experience. The view from there is breathtaking. You also have a nice view of Burj Al Arab from there. If you are like me and don’t like seafood, they also have nice vegetarian alternatives.

Ravi: A very simple Pakistani restaurant with fantastic food. Apparently they are in Lonely Planet so it’s always packed. The food is a delight. Try the Ginger Chicken and Chicken cubes. So delicious that just writing about it makes me hungry.

Iranzamin: Iranian restaurant located in the Marina. I love the Koobideh here and on Fridays they have a dish called Tarchin which is yummy. Not the best place to go to if you are on a carb free diet though.

Smiley BBK: A thai-restaurant that offers great food for a good price. Don’t forget to order the Sweet Sticky Rice with Coconut Milk and Mango. It’s out of this world delicious. You can order dishes called Another One Bites The Dust or The Name’s Bond, James Bond.

I hope you enjoy these kind of posts! Which restaurant is your favorite? Please comment and let me know!

What’s in my Bag?

I emptied my bag to clean it but then I got this idea that I would show you guys what’s in it.
If you haven’t noticed already the two main things are missing. Keys and wallet!
Well the thing is that I actually forgot my keys and my wallet in Sweden. I know what you are thinking. Who forgets those things? Well I did. Remember last week when I was going to a cocktail party? It was a great party with lots of cocktails and a lot of fun. The day after though, was not as fun. So while packing, in a less fantastic shape, I managed to forget some important things. I have been without them for a week now but luckily I have friends who will travel back tonight so they will bring those things with them.

Anyhow, this is what I actually do have in my bag:

Perfume: I always have a perfume in my bag. Always! One of my favorite fragrances at the moment is Oscar de la Renta’s Flor. I’m on my second bottle now. Nice memories are connected to this scent so I’m sticking to it for a while.
Sunglasses: In Dubai you can’t go anywhere without a pair of sunglasses. These pink ones are from LeSpecs.
Hand Cream: I got this new L’Occitane hand cream and it’s fantastic and smells lovely. The size is perfect for traveling or just to have in a small handbag.

Lip Balm: This one from Rituals, keeps the lips in good shape.

Lip Pen: Mac Soar, one of my favorite colors, which is so hard to get now days since apparently Kylie Jenner is using it. So unfortunately it’s always sold out.

Lip Gloss: From Face in color Fanatic. I never used to wear lip-gloss until the make up artist who did my make up for the wedding introduced me to it. I have been using it since, it gives the perfect amount of shine without being too smudgy.

Blush: This one from H&M in color Rosy Brown. Love this color.

Bon Bons: You can’t have too much of those. Also great to have in case you feel like kissing someone.

A Notebook: I know most people use their phones for notes these days. I do that too in situations when no pen and paper is around, but mostly I prefer to right things down. My brother always says I only use 10 % of my phones functions. I admit I’m not great with technology. Kind of old fashioned I guess.

Time to get personal!
I have been blogging for a while now and I feel that it’s time for us to get to know each other better. I’m curious to know who you are, what you do and what you enjoy in life. That’s why I’m having my very first Q&A here on the blog. Ask me questions and I will answer them. At the same time let me know a little something about you, like where you live or what your favorite brand is etc. As a thank you I will give this nice candle kit from Oscar de la Renta to one of you guys.
Let’s start! ☺

A Beautiful Poem

We are the north, south, east, west, the inbetweens, the half-halfs, the quarter-quarter-quarter-quarters.

Continents meet in our tongues. We speak this, we talk that, just what language our dreams are made of nobody knows. We are lost in translation, yet found in subtitles. History streams through our veins, unfolds in our deeds. Blood of our forefathers and forefathers for fathers to be fathers and mothers. Our skin is a map of countries, a relief of encounters, created by love – not war. We are the aerial roots of a Banyan tree, unconnected with the earth, dangling in the air. But it is us who can grow wherever we want, wherever we need to grow. Yes, we are homeless, still, we can turn the no- into an every-where. For what is air, but a no-thing and yet a some-thing, like love, ideas, phantasies, music. Like us.

We are the north, south, east, west, the inbetweens, the half-halfs, the quarter-quarter-quarter-quarters.
